Again, I get your argument. Again, I’m not conflating personal racism with policies that perpetuate racial discrimination. Rev. Dr. Barber, who led the Moral Mondays movement to stop NC’s racially discriminatory voting laws emphasized this point repeatedly. Additionally, legislative intent is also not the same as personal intent. Though in some cases, like in AL, we do have a legislator on record saying districts were drawn to break up the “black power structure” in the state. And in NC, federal courts ruled that the laws targeted black voters with “almost surgical precision.”
But more importantly, look at how far you are going just to say what…that the people who pass discriminatory laws aren't’ personally racist? So what? Their policies still harm people and make our democracy weaker. Their actions are simply not worth defending, yet here you are. Why?
