Pretty easy to see new laws like that getting weaponized by conservatives when they have the levers of power. We have a lot of existing laws that could be enforced to go after violent right wing militias and the military also has court-martial powers, for instance.

I don't think anyone should be stripped of their voting rights, ever, fwiw. The government can't be trusted with that power.
