You’re putting words in my mouth. I never disparaged peaceful protest or non-violent action and I never endorsed violence, including property destruction. I would invite you to re-read what I wrote. Further, I would add that alt-right ideology does not see a bright line between peaceful and violent protest — one’s evolving attitude toward violence is part of the radicalization a portion of members go through as they are increasingly exposed to white nationalist and white supremacist ideologies. (Off hand, a good reference on that here.) In the case of Charlottesville, I would also challenge you to read the linked account in Slate. The clergy were doing the kind of non-violent action you’re talking about (I’ve done similar actions) and were protected by anti-fascists after white supremacists tried to break through their line.
